About the position

FormFactor, Inc. is seeking a Product Marketing Manager to lead global strategic marketing activities for assigned probe card products. This role is pivotal in shaping the product strategy and direction, ensuring alignment with customer needs and market demands. The Product Marketing Manager will work closely with account teams to provide marketing leadership and will regularly interact with senior management and executives. The position requires a deep understanding of customer test challenges and the ability to define solutions using FormFactor's advanced technology. The Manager will be responsible for setting market requirements, managing product roadmaps, and prioritizing projects to maximize profit and market share. This includes updating competitive situations, communicating customer requirements, and providing input to account strategies. The essential duties include defining product strategy and roadmap, conducting market research to identify customer needs, and creating Market Requirements Documents that outline customer needs and product differentiation. The Manager will also develop business cases to support market and business development, define value propositions, and lead New Product Introductions (NPI) to ensure successful product launches. Cross-functional engagement with various teams such as sales, engineering, and finance is crucial for the success of the role. The Manager will also interface with customers to define testing requirements and prepare technical presentations to explain products and services. This position is not just about technical expertise; it also requires strong leadership and communication skills to mentor others and drive revenue growth through technical engagements. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of the semiconductor manufacturing and test process, along with experience in high-speed digital or RF applications. The role demands a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to engage with customers effectively, even in challenging situations.

Responsibilities

  • Define product strategy and roadmap.
  • Conduct market research to identify customer needs and market gaps.
  • Create and publish Market Requirements Documents that clearly define customer needs and features/specs that differentiate FFI products.
  • Identify strategic vectors of differentiation for products through competitive and market research.
  • Develop business cases to support market and business development.
  • Define Value Propositions to support the competitive positioning of the products and solutions in the market.
  • Define value pricing propositions that support high margin contribution for the Company's products in the market.
  • Develop target and key account positioning strategies in support of sales activities.
  • Develop and articulate fact-based and current competitive intelligence that includes product and financial positioning vis-a-vis critical extant and emergent competition.
  • Lead the New Product Introduction (NPI) inclusive of beta testing, sales training, creating sales and product collateral, and ensuring the go-to-market success of new product launches.
  • Articulate objectives to ensure product and organizational success.
  • Participate in strategic planning activities to include articulation of organic and inorganic growth opportunities.
  • Train the sales/account teams regularly to transfer knowledge of the market and FFI products & solutions as part of NPI.
  • Engage cross-functionally with sales, applications engineering, NPI engineering, R&D, manufacturing, finance, and corporate communications as part of NPI.
  • Interface with customers to define device testing requirements that drive product roadmaps for long-term revenue growth.
  • Use negotiation skills to close gaps between customer requirements and factory capabilities.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations explaining products or services to customers and prospective customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or other technical degree; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years experience in applications, marketing, product development, or general management that involved leading and mentoring others.
  • 5+ years experience in a customer-facing role in the semiconductor industry.
  • Solid knowledge of the semiconductor manufacturing and test process.
  • 5+ years experience in an engineering technical role within the semiconductor experience.
  • Strong technical understanding and experience in high-speed digital or RF applications and theory.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth through technical engagements.
  • Comfortable speaking to a group and engaging in problem-solving dialogue with occasionally distressed customers or partners.
  • Ability to travel for business as much as 50% of the time both domestically and internationally.
