About the position

The Marketing Manager at Meridian Bioscience plays a crucial role in developing and executing strategic and tactical plans that drive sales and marketing efforts for innovative diagnostic products. This position collaborates closely with various teams, including Sales, Marketing, and cross-functional partners, to enhance product positioning and market presence globally. The role involves understanding market dynamics, developing marketing strategies, and ensuring successful product launches while achieving financial goals.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain an understanding of assigned product categories, competition, segmentation, and positioning within the marketplace.
  • Develop annual Global Marketing Plan and execute strategies to meet revenue and earnings expectations.
  • Measure progress weekly, working closely with sales operations and finance.
  • Demonstrate proficiency with CRM, financial reporting systems, and other Marketing resources.
  • Make data-driven decisions to improve processes and drive sales outcomes.
  • Develop and execute tactics to drive commercial teams to achieve short- and long-term goals.
  • Communicate objectives, segmentation, key messages, value proposition, positioning, tactics, and expected follow-up clearly.
  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, competitive landscape, and market trends.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop product launch plans, marketing campaigns, and sales enablement materials.
  • Create compelling product messaging, value propositions, and positioning statements.
  • Track key initiatives weekly, including sales revenue, wins/loss analysis, and program performance.
  • Lead the launch of new products for assigned categories, ensuring commercial readiness.
  • Create promotional programs and advertisement campaigns in conjunction with the Marketing Communications team.
  • Analyze global market insights to provide direction on products to meet growth goals.
  • Support building and maintaining key opinion leaders for tactical product marketing plans.
  • Act as a commercial product expert for customer and sales force inquiries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a Science-related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Sales and/or Marketing experience in a medical device environment.
  • IVD experience is preferred.
  • Experience with marketing plans and/or product launches preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous background and understanding of sales and marketing roles within an IVD-focused organization.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence others, especially with R&D and cross-functional partners.
