About the position

As a Product Marketing Manager at Trimble, you will play a pivotal role in driving the adoption and growth of our estimating solutions tailored for MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) and General Contractors across North America. This position requires you to collaborate closely with various organizational departments, including product management, sales, and marketing, to ensure that our products meet the needs of our customers and stand out in the competitive landscape. Your primary responsibility will be to represent the 'voice of the customer' by conducting thorough research on customer needs and mapping the customer journey from the initial sale through to implementation. In this role, you will leverage your comprehensive understanding of the industry, customer personas, and competitive dynamics to develop effective go-to-market strategies and create differentiated messaging. This will empower our sales and marketing teams to communicate the value of our products and solutions effectively. You will be tasked with building strong, inclusive partnerships across diverse departments to support various initiatives, including go-to-market strategies, product launches, and enablement activities. Your responsibilities will also include conducting both quantitative and qualitative market research to gain insights into industry trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning. You will work closely with product management to influence the product roadmap and prioritize solution development, ensuring that we deliver greater value to our customers. Additionally, you will develop and execute comprehensive product go-to-market plans, drive product pricing and positioning, and create essential marketing collateral such as datasheets and brochures. Collaborating with the learning and enablement team, you will also develop sales enablement strategies and materials that articulate our value propositions and support our marketing efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong, inclusive cross-functional partnerships with colleagues from diverse departments to support and execute on a variety of initiatives, such as go-to-market and enablement activities, research, and product launches.
  • Conduct and gather quantitative and qualitative market research to gain an understanding of industry trends, customer needs, buyer personas, and competition to inform strategy and strengthen our portfolio.
  • Work in partnership with product management to influence and prioritize roadmap and solution development, such as additional features or new product development, to drive greater customer value.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive product go-to-market plans.
  • Drive and influence product pricing, packaging, and positioning.
  • Create messaging and positioning documents and related collateral, such as datasheets and brochures.
  • Partner with the learning and enablement team to develop and execute sales enablement strategy on our target audience, value proposition, and offerings, including the creation of sales enablement materials and courses.
  • Enable and collaborate with the marketing team to execute on key marketing deliverables that effectively articulate value propositions and help drive pipeline and bookings.
  • Create and maintain competitive analysis, market sizing, and market saturation for current markets.
  • Make business recommendations from data analysis by creating presentations derived from research.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree required, preferably in marketing or business.
  • 5+ years in a product marketing or related role.
  • Experience in the B2B software market and the construction industry is a plus.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research capabilities with the curiosity and creativity to identify and integrate new information into compelling, actionable analysis output (presentation skills).
  • Outgoing - able to conduct interviews, onsite customer visits, and tradeshow events.
  • Communication skills (giving small group presentations, active listening, ability to build understanding of the analysis, ability to give and receive feedback, and support across functions and at all levels).
  • Collaborative attitude - ability to work across multiple remote teams.
  • Enjoys learning - passionate about understanding customer problems.
  • Ability and willingness to travel from time to time (less than 15%).
