In the SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) Marketing & Solutions organization, we create compelling positioning, messaging, and content to assist buyers in making informed decisions and to support sales efforts. Our team acts as experts in the platform and technology space, influencing and supporting solution innovations, marketing strategies, integrated demand programs, and external company perception. As a Product Marketing Specialist for SAP Business Technology Platform, your primary focus will be to serve as a market, audience, and subject matter expert in the platform and cloud infrastructure domain. This role is crucial as we aim to grow enterprise application marketing by educating and engaging the market on how we manage and deliver our SaaS applications. You will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to understand the total addressable market (TAM), represent the vision to the market, and play a key role in developing our strategy. This involves telling compelling stories based on effective positioning and messaging, which will drive product innovation and the execution of business plans. You will target key buyers and users, including Developers, Enterprise Architects, and C-level IT executives, making this an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to the growth of SAP's next generation of cloud capabilities while collaborating across Marketing, Product, Sales, and Engineering teams.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the market economics, whitespace, and opportunities, and business objectives in target markets.
  • Contribute to Integrated Marketing Management on program build through messaging, positioning, content, offers, and respective solution/industry expertise.
  • Serve as a public voice to the market and act as a solution evangelist.
  • Advocate for the customer and provide market insights to influence and collaborate with development teams to drive product roadmaps and SAP's use of technology innovations.
  • Create compelling and differentiated positioning, messaging, and personas for key buyer and technical user audiences.
  • Develop customer and partner facing assets and ensure respective rollout and availability to marketing program managers and digital execution teams.
  • Help recruit and create compelling customer references and submissions for customer awards (SAP, industry, and analyst).
  • Lead the strategy/interaction with market stakeholders such as Analyst Relations, Public Relations, and other communication channels to deliver thought leader messages into the market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a technology or engineering field, and B2B marketing experience.
  • 3-5 years of product marketing or product management experience in the B2B software industry.
  • 3-5 years of experience in content creation of strategic and customer-facing assets.
  • Strong understanding and usage experience with platform technologies such as BI/analytics, AI & automation solutions, integration software, application development tools, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud computing (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) and experience with applications from vendors such as SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, Workday, or equivalent.
  • Analytical mindset, and innovative thinker with strong communication and collaborative skills: verbal, written, and interpersonal.
  • Exceptional organizational, analytical, and writing skills; able to coordinate and manage multiple projects and collaborate within and across virtual and diverse teams.
  • Track record of building strong customer and/or partner relationships.
