About the position

Duke Energy is seeking a motivated and ambitious student for a summer internship in Product Marketing. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience within Duke Energy's Product Marketing & Acquisition Team, which serves as a strategic consultant and execution arm for Products and Services and Customer Experience. As a Product Marketing Intern, you will be involved in various aspects of marketing and communication plans, assisting in campaign development for customer-facing programs and products. This role will allow you to engage in creative strategy and channel alignment, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of the marketing landscape within the energy sector. Throughout the internship, you will assist in analyzing marketing channels and analytics, providing insights into internal and external challenges, and reviewing research and marketing trends that support assigned marketing strategy projects. You will also have the opportunity to publish and present written Point of Views (POVs) and other strategy documents to marketing professionals and key stakeholders. This internship is designed to enhance your skills, provide valuable experience, and set the stage for a successful career in marketing. The internship will be conducted in a hybrid mobility classification, allowing you to work both remotely and onsite, with in-office requirements of 2-3 days per week. Responsibilities

  • Review marketing and communication plans and assist in campaign development for customer-facing programs and products.
  • Assist in the analysis of marketing channels and analytics.
  • Provide insight into internal and/or external challenges and regulatory issues.
  • Review and study internal and external research and marketing trends that support assigned marketing strategy projects.
  • Publish and present written Point of Views (POVs) and other strategy documents to marketing professionals and key stakeholders.
  • Assist in the preparation of operational and informational communications and campaigns.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a rising junior, senior, or graduate student in an accredited college or university program.
  • Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business (concentration in Marketing or Management).
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.75.
  • Must not graduate prior to August 2025.

Nice-to-haves

  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Demonstrated effective leadership skills through on-campus, extracurricular/volunteer activities.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team to meet critical milestones.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products.
  • Capable of building, developing, and maintaining positive working relationships with key clients and subject matter experts.
