About the position

Siemens Industry is seeking a Product Engineer to join our Grand Prairie, TX factory, which is a key facility in the DFW Metroplex with over 1000 employees dedicated to producing high-quality, engineered, and make-to-order circuit breakers. The Product Engineer will play a crucial role in the design and development of new products as well as modifications to existing products. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about engineering and eager to contribute to innovative solutions in the electrical equipment sector. In this role, you will be responsible for engineering mechanical parts, assemblies, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) necessary for fulfilling electrical equipment orders. You will provide engineering support and technical assistance regarding design feasibility to various internal teams, ensuring that product development objectives are met effectively. Your participation in reviewing product performance will be essential to confirm that products function as intended. Additionally, you will assist in standardizing materials, components, and assemblies to streamline procurement, manufacturing, and inventory processes. Responsibilities

  • Engineer mechanical parts, assemblies, drawings, and BOMs required to build electrical equipment orders.
  • Provide engineering support and technical assistance on design feasibility to other internal groups.
  • Assist in the planning of detailed product development objectives.
  • Participate in the review of results to ensure products perform as intended.
  • Assist in standardizing materials, components, and assemblies to minimize items procured, manufactured, and inventoried.
  • Learn product engineering basics while assisting in the development of new and improved products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1-3 years' experience with ProE/Creo; recent college graduates will be considered.
  • Experience in product development or design.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with PowerPanel/Switchboard/Switchgear or similar products application or design.
  • Sheet metal fabrication design experience and knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
  • Understanding of electrical schematics.
