About the position

Kforce has a client in Redmond, WA that is seeking a Product Motion Designer with an interest in helping us envision new ways to connect businesses with customers as they interact with the Edge browser, Microsoft Start, Microsoft Bing, and other surfaces. In this role, you will work within a team of designers to create experiences that are engaging, relevant, harmonious, and brand-worthy. The Product Motion Designer will utilize strong interaction and visual design skills to create amazing products and elevate design. You will be responsible for planning and implementing strategies that ensure our design work drives customer value and helps us meet our business goals. As a Product Motion Designer, you will document final designs in a point-of-reference/specification, adjust design systems, and work directly with marketing to produce consumer-facing experiences. Additionally, you will find areas where we can improve our processes, products, or culture, and lead or influence the changes necessary to do that. Your role will also involve creating clean and effective graphic templates, presentations, process flows, information architecture diagrams, documentation, sketches, wireframes, and other artifacts required to develop and evolve user experience designs.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize strong interaction and visual design skills to create amazing products and elevate design.
  • Plan and implement strategies that ensure our design work drives customer value and helps meet business goals.
  • Document final designs in a point-of-reference/specification and adjust design systems.
  • Work directly with marketing to produce consumer-facing experiences.
  • Identify areas for improvement in processes, products, or culture and lead or influence necessary changes.
  • Create clean and effective graphic templates, presentations, process flows, information architecture diagrams, documentation, sketches, wireframes, and other artifacts required for user experience designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Graphic Design, or related program; a combination of education and experience may substitute for a Bachelor's degree.
  • Portfolio for review with design lead.
  • 5-7 years of direct experience designing user interfaces for web, software, and/or hardware products is required.
  • Minimum 3-4 years of motion design experience.
  • Minimum 2-3 years with Figma.
  • Strong knowledge of web technologies (i.e., HTML and CSS) is preferred.
  • Fluency with standard design software tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe CS) required.
  • Fluency with basic animation (within Figma) required; skills or experience with more advanced animation (e.g., After Effects) is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills required.
  • Strong design abilities, typographic skills, digital expertise, and acute attention to detail.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed team player who works well under pressure and thrives in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read and synthesize product specifications and generate related design specifications/design briefs; can help derive and document missing specifications when product specifications are incomplete.
  • Ability to discuss and present an in-depth knowledge of standard design principles: color, typography, layout, brand.
  • Ability to understand technology issues and communicate information effectively.
