About the position

As a Product Operations Analyst at Windfall, you will be an integral part of our team, reporting directly to the Product Operations Manager at our San Francisco headquarters. This role is designed for individuals who are passionate about data analysis and eager to contribute to the success of both non-profit and commercial organizations. You will collaborate closely with our engineering, data science, and customer success teams to streamline internal processes and enhance our data-driven decision-making capabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to aggregate data from various sources, generate accurate analyses, and communicate your findings effectively to both internal and external stakeholders through well-constructed slide decks. In this position, you will have the opportunity to advance your analytical skills while working alongside a talented team of Analysts, Data Scientists, and Engineers. You will engage in projects that provide impactful insights, helping non-profits exceed their donation goals and enabling commercial companies to achieve higher returns on their marketing investments. Your role will involve generating visualizations using various technologies, performing focused research on U.S. households to validate our models and datasets, and gathering training data to enhance Windfall's data assets. You will also be responsible for creating custom segments for our customers based on different heuristics and standardizing customer data in multiple formats for internal processing. This position is ideal for self-starters who take ownership of their work and have a keen eye for detail, as we pride ourselves on accuracy and thoroughness in our analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Aggregating data from several sources to generate accurate analysis
  • Generating visualizations leveraging different technologies to be included in slide decks and dashboards
  • Constructing slide decks from inception to effectively communicate results to various internal & external stakeholders
  • Performing focused research on US households to help validate our model and dataset
  • Gathering training data that will help us improve Windfall's data asset
  • Creating custom segments for our customers based on different heuristics
  • Standardizing and transforming customer data in numerous formats for internal processing

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or similar experience in computer science, data analysis or engineering
  • Two years of professional work experience or applicable analytics internships
  • Collaborative team-focused attitude with a strong desire to advance the product and learn new things
  • Intermediate to Advanced SQL and Python
  • Hands-on experience working with large data files via command line
  • A fierce sense of ownership and responsibility in one's work
  • Self-starter that anticipates requests and doesn't need a lot of oversight
  • Impeccable attention to detail

Nice-to-haves

  • 1-2 Years working experience with SQL and Python preferred
  • Previous experience supporting a product function in an internship or work environment
