The Product Owner Analyst position within the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment (CDLE) is a vital role that supports the Division of Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI). This position is responsible for managing the technological systems that enable the FAMLI program to provide claim benefits to Colorado workers. The FAMLI program, approved by voters in November 2020, ensures that workers have access to paid leave for personal or family circumstances. The Innovation and Technology Unit, where this role is situated, is accountable for the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of these systems. The unit oversees various work sections, including claims management, benefit payments, wage reporting, premium collections, and fraud and data analysis. As a Product Owner Analyst, you will report to the Product Manager and assist in implementing the overall vision for the product. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining, grooming, and prioritizing backlogs for assigned value streams, ensuring that the final outcomes align with stakeholder needs. You will act as the primary voice for both internal and external stakeholders, conducting requirements gathering sessions to ensure that features meet their expectations. This role requires a collaborative approach, as you will work closely with development teams, participate in sprint ceremonies, and review user stories to confirm alignment with business requirements. In addition to managing backlogs and product roadmaps, you will be responsible for setting expectations with stakeholders, monitoring vendor performance, and ensuring that all environments are updated. You will also serve as a point of contact for development teams regarding system incidents and will be expected to make decisions that maximize the value of the finished product while considering technical opportunities and constraints. This position offers a hybrid work environment, allowing for flexibility while still requiring in-person attendance based on business needs.
