About the position

The Product Manager at Honeywell is a pivotal role responsible for the delivery and support of products within the product line, particularly focusing on innovations in commercial and defense aircraft platforms. This position entails ensuring that the product roadmap is effectively broken down into Epics and Stories, which are maintained in a prioritized backlog for the product team. Acting as the voice of the customer, the Product Manager plays a crucial role in managing customer expectations through meticulous planning, execution, and sprint playbacks to the business. The role requires leading and supporting the product team during sprint playbacks to ensure alignment with business requirements and expectations. In addition to managing the product backlog, the Product Manager is responsible for discovering innovative product solutions that deliver necessary value, are user-friendly for the target audience, and can be developed within the available resources and time frame. The Product Manager will also work closely with the Product Owner to resolve any impediments encountered during the development process, ensuring that the team’s velocity is not hindered while still meeting business expectations. The Product Owner serves as the subject matter expert for the products, providing guidance on their suitability for various requirements and advocating for the value they deliver. Key responsibilities include partnering with Product Managers to develop product strategies, conducting product planning, and ensuring the quality of releases for the HBT Digital Value stream. The Product Manager will also be responsible for grooming the product backlog, ensuring that each sprint is prioritized to deliver the best value in the shortest possible time. This role requires a strong focus on customer needs, as the Product Manager will represent the voice of the business to the product team and work to resolve any impediments raised by the team. The position also involves presenting and demoing features and functionality to leaders and large organizations, identifying challenges and opportunities to improve the agile process, and advocating for the product team’s activities and successes.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Product Managers in developing the Product Strategy and advancing the HBT Strategic Digital Goals
  • Conduct product planning, design and quality of releases for the HBT Digital Value stream
  • Plan and groom the product backlog so that each sprint is prioritized to offer the best value in the shortest possible delivery time
  • Act as the voice of the business to the product team and resolve impediments raised by the team
  • Find new innovative product solutions through procurement or development to deliver necessary business value
  • Ensure all items meet the definition of ready before entering a sprint
  • Ensure all items meet the definition of done before being included in the sprint demo
  • Present and demo features and functionality to leaders and large organizations
  • Identify challenges and opportunities to improve the agile process and the effectiveness of the product team
  • Be a vocal advocate for the team and promote its activities and successes
  • Work closely with leadership and several cross-functional teams to develop and deliver innovative consumer software and services
  • Represent the voice of the customer and champion needs of the business and key stakeholders in defining use cases and subsequent user stories
  • Ensure customer and product requirements are collected from the field and documented
  • Define user stories with proper acceptance criteria
  • Plan, groom, and prioritize user stories as preparation for Sprints and Releases
  • Articulate details, prioritize backlog and guide the development process
  • Analyze customer feedback and usage metrics to identify key pain points
  • Deliver long-term, large-scale solutions that require vision, creativity, and advanced analytical thinking
  • Drive requirement definition, customer experience design, product roadmap and prioritization
  • Manage bottlenecks, provide escalation management, and balance business needs versus technical constraints.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology
  • Proven experience working in an Agile/Scrum and Lean environment in a Product Owner role
  • Excellent competency in product/project management tools
  • Ability to synthesize user feedback and data to make data-driven decisions
  • Ability to prioritize across competing priorities and juggle several work streams with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience with end-to-end product delivery
  • Experience in SAP Hybris
  • Experience overseeing roadmap strategy and definition
  • Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
  • Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
