About the position

Enlighten, a leader in big data solution development and deployment, is seeking an experienced Product Owner to support operations and growth strategy, particularly focusing on the U.S. Coast Guard. This hybrid role will involve both on-site work in Washington, DC, and remote work from Columbia, MD. The Product Owner will play a crucial role in project management and DevSecOps support, aiming for organic growth within the organization. The position requires a strong understanding of the technology and capabilities offered by the company, as well as the ability to foster relationships with government customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and strengthening relationships with targeted government customers, acting as the account lead, and integrating into the customers' daily operations. This includes working closely with the marketing team to develop and implement business plans and operational roadmaps, contributing to competitive proposals, and identifying new market opportunities. The Product Owner will also document and maintain opportunities in the company pipeline tools, develop customer relationships, and maintain knowledge of customer plans and market intelligence. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with internal marketing and engineering departments, ensuring customer experience success, and managing the delivery of DevSecOps pipeline projects. The candidate will need to support the identification and capture of new business opportunities within the Department of Defense (DoD). This position requires a current Secret clearance and significant experience in DoD cyber, agile development, and big data, along with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, foster, and strengthen relationships between the company and targeted government customers.
  • Function as the account lead and integrate directly into the customers' daily operations.
  • Understand the company's technology and capabilities and champion them accordingly.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop and implement marketing and business plans, operational roadmaps, and action plans for identified targets of opportunity.
  • Contribute to the development of new, competitive proposals.
  • Expand future opportunities by working with existing customers.
  • Identify new market opportunities and target markets.
  • Document and maintain opportunities in company pipeline tools.
  • Develop customer relationships and maintain updated knowledge of customer plans, programs, and general market intelligence.
  • Develop an external network of solution partners and providers.
  • Collaborate with internal marketing and engineering departments.
  • Own the customer experience success from start to finish.
  • Work closely with development and engineering teams to ensure DevSecOps pipeline delivery dates track with customer targets and timelines.
  • Act as the focal point for pushing capabilities out to the customer.
  • Ensure the customer is fully aware of relevant DevSecOps pipeline touchpoints to ensure acceptance of new updates, features, or capabilities.
  • Support identifying, pursuing, and capturing new business opportunities within the Department of Defense (DoD).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A current Secret clearance is required; U.S. Citizenship required.
  • 9+ years in DoD cyber, agile development, and/or big data with a B.A. in Business, a technical field, or related; 7 years relevant experience with a Master's in a related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
  • Prior government or military experience with organizations such as MARFORCYBER, DCSA, DISA, Army Cyber, U.S. Cyber Command, Coast Guard Cyber Command, U.S. Air Force (AFCYBER), or 10TH Fleet / Navy Cyber.
  • Prior experience providing Defensive Cyber Security or managing a contract that supported this work.
  • Experience managing complex technical projects and/or programs.
  • Understanding of budget practices and acquisitions with relevant organizations or relationships.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of customer buying teams and how to sell to individual influencers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with others.
  • Ability to speak in a public forum and excellent interviewing skills including active listening and empathy.
  • Participation in the full lifecycle of Business Development, including proposal support, staffing, opportunity identification, bid/no-bid analysis, RFI/Market Responses, etc.
  • Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work on-site in Washington, DC 2-3 days a week as needed and visit the Columbia, MD office.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Software Engineering, Cloud Technologies, and Cyber Security.
  • Technical background strong enough to determine system requirements and work closely with engineering and management.
  • Previous experience with Big Data Platform (BDP) is a plus.
  • DoD 8140 / 8570 compliance certifications may be required as directed by the customer.
