About the position

The Product Owner I - US Bankcard Acquisition - New Capabilities is responsible for ensuring that a development team delivers customer-focused product increments that create value for the organization. This role involves aligning with other Product Owners and senior management to follow a product vision, maintaining a prioritized product backlog, managing delivery blockers, and continuously assessing customer feedback. The Product Owner I is expected to maximize value, improve the product and delivery process, and contribute to a positive work environment while embodying Agile principles.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the development team creates value through customer-focused product increments.
  • Align with other Product Owners and senior management on product vision.
  • Create and maintain a prioritized product backlog.
  • Manage delivery blockers and continuously assess customer feedback.
  • Maximize value and assess improvements in product and delivery processes.
  • Participate in scrum or Kanban events to improve product value and delivery efficiency.
  • Provide oversight on user story design, development, and completion.
  • Manage delivery initiatives and oversee multiple development team backlogs.
  • Raise issues that impede efficient delivery of customer-focused increments.
  • Responsible for defect management and prioritization.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree and/or product certificate.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • 3-5 years of Product Owner or Agile related delivery experience.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification is an asset.
  • Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certifications or experience is an asset.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Background in technology & product preferred.
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable.
  • Proven ability to drive delivery end-to-end.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Previous Product/Feature ownership experience.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority.
