About the position

The Product Owner III - Risk Grading is a key role within the Credit Systems team in the Credit Administration organization at First Citizens Bank. This hybrid position focuses on enhancing and building the technology infrastructure for an enterprise-wide Risk Rating service. The role involves collaborating with business stakeholders, managing product backlogs, defining requirements, and driving technical innovation to support product initiatives and continuous improvement within the bank.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to align on product vision, strategy, priority, scope, and roadmap for the risk rating technical implementation.
  • Develop a prioritization framework and strategy for delivery initiatives, preparing and refining the product backlog and roadmap.
  • Define end-to-end solution requirements and coordinate implementation with other system product owners to ensure consistency.
  • Provide regular status reports to leadership and stakeholders, and participate in sprint ceremonies.
  • Assist in defining, implementing, and monitoring OKRs to ensure alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Product Management, Scrum, Agile OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Product Management, Scrum, Agile.
  • Proven knowledge and robust understanding of credit risk rating.

Nice-to-haves

  • Strong technical skills with business acumen to develop solutions to complex problems.
  • Knowledge of design thinking principles with a focus on user experience.
  • Familiarity with credit risk modelling and analytics, and experience defining data requirements for models.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles and regulatory compliance issues related to the banking industry.
  • Very good understanding of software delivery lifecycle with a focus on requirement management and system analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related discipline or equivalent work experience; Master's preferred.
  • 10 or more years of analysis experience.
