About the position

As a Product Owner for Information Architecture at 7-Eleven, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data governance, data quality, and Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and articulate a clear product vision that aligns with the overall business objectives and goals of the organization. You will create and maintain a prioritized product backlog, ensuring that the most critical tasks are addressed in a timely manner. In this role, you will establish and oversee the implementation of data governance policies, standards, and procedures. This includes defining data ownership, stewardship, and accountability roles, as well as collaborating with stakeholders to develop data classification and retention policies. You will also define data quality metrics and KPIs, implementing initiatives to improve data quality while overseeing data cleansing and profiling activities. Additionally, you will define and implement MDM strategies and processes, ensuring data consistency and accuracy across the organization. Managing the master data lifecycle and governance will be a key aspect of your responsibilities. Building strong relationships with business stakeholders, IT teams, and data consumers will be essential, as you will need to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, manage expectations, and address stakeholder concerns. You will collaborate with agile teams to deliver data-related features and enhancements, prioritizing and managing the product backlog while participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives. As a Product Owner, you will take ownership of the application(s) and work closely with software developers, engineers, and architects to provide consultative guidance and direction to the team. You will also be responsible for defining acceptance criteria, approving cards, managing code deployment, and leading development team members.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Understanding of cloud-based as well as on-prem applications.
  • Comfortable with defining and planning work for development teams.
  • Previous experience with Azure/Google Cloud Platform/AWS is a plus.
  • Experience with Confluent Kafka is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and observability tools like Microsoft Purview, Informatica, Profisee is required.
  • Ability to take initiative in scoping out work for the development team.
  • Organized and able to present/communicate in front of large groups.
  • Able to collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Retail/CPG domain knowledge is a plus.
