About the position

The Product Owner - IT at Station Casinos is responsible for gathering requirements from stakeholders, developing user stories, and defining acceptance criteria. This role involves maintaining and prioritizing a product backlog, setting sprint goals, and leading product vision and releases. The Product Owner collaborates closely with the UX/UI team to create prototypes and mockups, negotiates priorities with stakeholders, and ensures that products meet all requirements before deployment. The position emphasizes a servant leadership approach and supports the company's culture and service standards.

Responsibilities

• Collect requirements from key stakeholders regarding desired deliverables.
• Develop user stories and define acceptance criteria based on stakeholder requirements.
• Maintain, groom, and prioritize the product backlog while being flexible with changing priorities.
• Set sprint goals and themes at the beginning of each sprint.
• Lead and plan product vision, releases, and upgrades based on the product roadmap.
• Work closely with the UX/UI team to deliver prototypes and mockups to leadership and stakeholders.
• Negotiate priorities and features with stakeholders, product owners, and the development team.
• Validate that the product meets all requirements before production deployment.
• Assist in coordination between the vendor, team, and stakeholders as needed.
• Lead prioritization of issues arising during production deployments by collaborating with the team and stakeholders.
• Provide support to the team using a servant leadership approach and lead by example.

Requirements

• Work experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role in product management.
• Hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle.
• Project management abilities to coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong team spirit, communication abilities, and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external guests, team members, and management in both written and verbal forms.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred; experience can substitute for education.
• Product Owner Certification is a plus but not required.
• Knowledge of Agile frameworks and the ability to apply those frameworks.
• Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, continual improvement, and empowerment.
