About the position

The Product Owner for the Foreign Exchange (FX) business line at U.S. Bank is responsible for partnering with FX front-office stakeholders to drive product evolution using Agile methodologies. This role involves maintaining the product backlog, creating user stories, and acting as the primary liaison between the business and Agile teams to ensure alignment with product strategy and vision.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with internal and external customers, the business line, and Agile teams to drive product evolution.
  • Maintain and refine the product backlog; create user stories and acceptance criteria, prioritizing stories for maximum business value.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the business and Agile teams, ensuring understanding of the product vision.
  • Work hands-on with the development team, addressing daily prioritization needs and providing real-time feedback.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to set release dates and communicate tradeoffs between schedule, scope, and budget.
  • Employ product management practices including customer research, data analytics, and market research.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Foreign Exchange/FX market knowledge, including understanding of currency pairs and exotic currencies.
  • Awareness of global currency markets and factors impacting currency prices.
  • Knowledge of spot, forward, and swap markets within FX.
  • Familiarity with FX options and derivatives used for hedging or speculation.
  • Understanding of liquidity management and interactions among central banks, market makers, and liquidity providers.
  • Regulatory knowledge in FX, including MiFID II, Dodd-Frank, and SDR.
  • Knowledge of AML/KYC requirements specific to FX trading.
  • Understanding of Basel III requirements affecting capital and liquidity management in FX operations.
  • Knowledge of risk management, counterparty risk, and credit risk associated with FX transactions.
  • Expertise in using FX trading platforms and familiarity with Bloomberg, Reuters Eikon, and Thomson Reuters FXall.
  • Proficiency in Excel and SQL for analyzing large datasets.
