About the position

The Product Owner for Merchant Services will play a pivotal role in driving the development and delivery of digital products within the banking and payments domain. The successful candidate will utilize tools such as Jira to track progress and manage backlogs, ensuring that the team remains focused on delivering high-value features and enhancements. Strong communication skills are essential, as the Product Owner will need to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including management, development teams, and external partners. The position also requires the ability to navigate complex problems and simplify them for various audiences, making it crucial for the Product Owner to possess excellent presentation skills. Responsibilities

  • Define product vision and strategy for merchant services.
  • Gather and prioritize product requirements from stakeholders.
  • Manage product backlogs and ensure clarity of product goals for the development team.
  • Utilize agile methodologies to track, prioritize, and deliver product initiatives using tools like Jira.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute product roadmaps and deliver high-value features.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on product goals and initiatives.
  • Simplify complex problems and present solutions to various audiences.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and process management initiatives in the digital practice.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in digital product development, strategic planning, process management, or agile product ownership.
  • Strong banking/payments domain knowledge with at least 10+ years of experience.
  • Preferably 5+ years of relevant payments experience at an acquirer or merchant service provider.
  • Hands-on experience in delivering product capabilities using agile methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using Jira or other agile tools for tracking and prioritizing initiatives.
  • Ability to focus on value-driven initiatives and effectively manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Management consulting experience in digital practice is preferred.
