About the position

FM Global is a leading property insurer for the world's largest businesses, providing risk management and property insurance solutions to over one-third of FORTUNE 1000 companies. The company is seeking a Product Owner - Platform to join its Global Platform Engineering Services team. This role is pivotal in driving the development and coordination of the Platform Environment, engaging with business and engineering departments to gather requirements that will inform the product backlog and roadmap. The Product Owner will lead the creation of new Cloud and Hybrid environments to support business application teams in testing and training, and will also be responsible for establishing a new release management process to ensure the health and resiliency of shared lower environments. In this role, the Product Owner will manage up to two teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality product features aligned with enterprise priorities and product vision. This includes collaborating with field experts and business partners to identify product needs, participating in product team meetings, and coordinating delivery, training, and support plans. The Product Owner will define the minimum viable product (MVP), organize and prioritize the backlog, and act as a liaison between customers and teams, translating product vision into actionable features. Effective communication of product strategy to stakeholders and team members is essential, as is the ability to set product goals and identify success metrics. Building relationships with key stakeholders is a critical aspect of this role. The Product Owner will oversee project delivery, collaborate with operations users and business teams, and champion customer needs. They will also lead product demos and contribute to team retrospectives to foster continuous improvement. Leadership and influence are key components, as the Product Owner will guide customers and product teams, prioritize dependencies, and ensure timely service delivery. The role requires a strong focus on communication, collaboration, and decision-making to drive projects towards completion and deliver business value.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the development and coordination of the Platform Environment build and coordination team.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years' experience in business, product management, software development, technology, and/or consulting.
  • Release management experience in a modern development environment.
  • Experience coordinating releases with multiple teams.
  • Outstanding planning, analytical, decision-making, organization, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to influence others and build consensus.
  • Capability to make difficult and quick decisions with incomplete information.
  • Deep business expertise or experience supporting business domains.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to work with all levels of team members and leadership.

  • Intermediate skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
