About the position

As a Trading Data and Analytics Product Owner (PO) for Products and Feedstocks Trading at ExxonMobil, you will play a pivotal role within the Fusion and Systems team, which is part of the Global Trading Enablement division. This position is designed for a professional who can bridge the gap between business needs and technical delivery, ensuring that the products developed meet the strategic goals of the Global Trading Organization. You will be the single point of contact for all Trading Data and Analytics needs, working closely with both business customers and IT delivery teams. Your responsibilities will include managing the product roadmap and backlog, which requires a balanced skill set of both technical and business acumen. In this role, you will leverage your analytical and business intelligence skills to translate complex business requirements into actionable data models, visualizations, and user stories. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of data sets and validating their fitness for use in modeling and user story development. Your ability to analyze business processes will be crucial in identifying and implementing improvement opportunities that enhance operational efficiency. You will also be expected to plan and prioritize work intake using the SAFe Agile methodology, adapting to the dynamic nature of business priorities and requirements. Leading user acceptance testing and training will be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that the end-users are equipped to utilize the tools and insights generated effectively. Your role will significantly impact the success of the trading data analytics initiatives, as you will manage the lifecycle of features and user stories, facilitate user networks, and capture the benefits of each product developed.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the single point of contact for Trading Data and Analytics needs within the business.
  • Liaise between the Global Trading organization and IT delivery teams to ensure alignment on analytics requirements.
  • Enable efficient consumption of data through analytics data models and applications.
  • Translate business requirements into data models, visualizations, features, and user stories with detailed acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze business processes to identify and implement improvement opportunities.
  • Validate data integrity for modeling and user story development to ensure data sets are fit-for-use.
  • Plan and prioritize work intake through SAFe Agile methodology, adapting to changing business priorities.
  • Lead user acceptance testing and training for new analytics tools and features.
  • Manage the lifecycle of features and user stories, ensuring they meet business needs.
  • Facilitate Power User Networks to monitor tool usage and maintain visualizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Business, or Engineering.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a fast-paced environment or multinational company.
  • Expertise in business process analysis and integration with data mining and analytics.
  • Project management skills to support initiatives and projects effectively.
  • Experience in continuous improvement processes and analytics platform development.
  • Hands-on experience with visualization tools, particularly Power BI.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening and effective communication.
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external customers in a multicultural environment.
  • Innovative and analytical thinking with a strong drive to lead change.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in operating and supporting robust and scalable big data platforms.
  • Familiarity with trading and oil & gas sectors.
  • Knowledge of global and regional energy markets.
  • Practical experience with cloud services, preferably Azure, and analytics technologies like Snowflake, Python, SQL, Dataiku, and Databricks.
