About the position

The Product Owner (Systems Analyst III) for GNS & Transcon Products at Expeditors is responsible for leading the Agile Team in defining and prioritizing the Team Backlog to ensure the delivery of value through software development outputs. This role acts as a customer proxy, collaborating with various stakeholders to align product strategy with user needs and business goals. The Product Owner will work on a highly technical platform, focusing on cloud enterprise services and data pipelines, while ensuring that the team's output meets the Definition of Done and user requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis on new feature development for business applications and services.
  • Create and understand system integration diagrams and perform gap analysis.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business/functional requirements into technical requirements.
  • Organize and facilitate sessions with stakeholders and business owners to clarify requirements.
  • Document process flow and data processing logic, addressing integration challenges.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to solve complex technical challenges and maximize productivity.
  • Participate in team and ART events, providing feedback from a customer-centric perspective.
  • Build, refine, and prioritize the team backlog in alignment with the program vision and roadmap.
  • Define story acceptance criteria and ensure stories meet these criteria upon completion.
  • Maximize value delivered by the agile team through frequent feedback from customers and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with other Product Owners to resolve dependencies and coordinate efforts.
  • Work closely with end-users to understand usage and gain feedback on features and solutions.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Product Owner and 3-5 years in a related technical role.
  • 3+ years of Business and/or Systems Analysis experience with different data message types (e.g., XML, JSON, Avro).
  • Strong agile leadership experience in a software development environment with Agile practices including Scrum and SAFe.
  • Ability to create technical requirements and mapping specification documents.
  • Comfortable presenting complex business and technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Effective at navigating ambiguity and helping teams drive toward clarity and consensus.
  • Technical background with an understanding of software development concepts.
  • Proven interpersonal skills and effective communication with a wide range of people.
  • Expertise in creating, analyzing, and improving processes.
  • Management of multiple and competing priorities with excellent time management skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Driven with a strong 'get it done' attitude.
  • 2+ years of experience working with APIs, Apache Kafka, and Stream Processing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in freight forwarding or transportation industry roles.
  • Understanding of the transportation/logistics industry.
  • Experience with system-to-system integration and migration projects.
  • Certification in Leading SAFe and SAFe PM/PO.
  • Proficiency with the system development lifecycle and agile techniques.
  • Working knowledge of Azure DevOps, SharePoint, Visio, and Microsoft Office.
  • 2+ years of experience with Azure cloud or similar.
  • 2+ years of experience with Kubernetes, microservices, and GraphQL APIs.
  • 2+ years of experience with Java, Gitlab, and CI/CD pipelines.
