About the position

We are looking for a Software Engineer responsible for developing, enhancing, modifying, and/or maintaining applications in the Employee Experience Technology environment. Software developers design, code, test, debug, and document programs as well as support activities for the corporate systems architecture. Following established written procedures, guidelines, and techniques, you will develop, enhance, test, support, maintain, and debug software applications that support business units or support functions. This is an individual contributor role where you will be fully competent to work under general direction on the most complex projects, often on multiple phases, and will seek guidance and direction from more senior associates or managers as needed. You will need to have a working knowledge of the business or function for which the application is designed and will often be responsible for the completion of a phase of a project. Additionally, you will provide guidance and check the work of less experienced associates.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend software using Java.
• Develop React screens.
• Develop and test REST services, testing them using CURL and other tools like Insomnia.
• Work with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) and AEM conversions to a modern stack that uses Java, React, and Liferay.
• Work with users to diagnose their issues and figure out solutions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups to provide progress, status, and blockers.

Requirements

• Strong core Java skills including multi-threading, collections API, JDBC, and knowledge of Java profiling tools.
• Experience with front-end technologies, preferably React, with strong recent Angular knowledge being acceptable.
• Proficient in creating schemas and able to detect and address basic performance issues in databases such as MS SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, and Sybase.
