About the position

The Product Owner for Yardi Financial Systems at Invitation Homes is responsible for leading the digital product development efforts to address critical pain points for customers and associates. This role involves managing the product backlog, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders to drive product success.

Responsibilities

• Establish and foster strong working relationships with internal stakeholders for clear communication on product efforts.
• Build and maintain a 4-6 week sprint backlog supporting the digital product roadmap, preparing user stories and bugs with requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Partner with product designers to create user-interface artifacts.
• Collaborate with software engineers to understand technology integrations for product capabilities.
• Gain knowledge of operational processes impacted by new product developments.
• Drive a cross-functional software development team to meet technology commitments.
• Prioritize user stories, balancing feature development, defects, and tech debt according to company priorities.
• Perform user acceptance testing for completed stories and bugs.
• Conduct product review sessions with stakeholders, accepting feedback and adapting to evolving requirements.
• Generate release and knowledge base documentation.
• Assist in field training activities as needed.
• Support the production team in investigating and resolving product defects.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a product owner/product manager role.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in real estate, travel, or retail preferred.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum software delivery.
• Experience with Yardi required.
• Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) preferred.
• Good business and technical acumen.
• Ability to communicate complex information simply to diverse audiences.
• Strong written and oral communication skills and collaborative ability.
• Ability to negotiate without being adversarial.
• Empathy for customer and associate experiences in prioritization.
• Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to motivate engineering teams.
• Ability to manage expectations while making others feel heard and respected.
