About the position

CACI is seeking a Product Owner in the Springfield, VA and/or St. Louis, MO area. The Product Owner will play a crucial role in assisting with the maturation of our customer's corporate applications suite. This position requires a strong understanding of the agile development life cycle and the ability to effectively communicate and interact with both clients and internal teams. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in customer engagement and project/product management, ensuring that the needs of the client are met while also aligning with the goals of the organization. In this role, the Product Owner will be responsible for gathering and shaping requirements, managing and grooming a product backlog, and maintaining customer engagement throughout the development process. The candidate will set priorities for the development scrum team and ensure compliance with the program's Configuration Management Plan. Additionally, the Product Owner will perform end-user training and communicate effectively with both clients and internal team members, providing appropriate technical, industry, and functional knowledge to all work efforts. The successful candidate will be expected to accomplish assigned tasks by specified due dates, identify potential problems early, and alert supervisors to avert crises. They will also need to operate independently when appropriate while working cooperatively as part of a team to achieve program and client goals. Effective interaction with client personnel, including project team members and users, is essential for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and shape requirements.
  • Manage and groom a product backlog.
  • Maintain customer engagement.

  • Perform end-user training.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.

  • Identify problems and alert supervisors with sufficient lead time to avert potential crises.
  • Identify changes in scope or work effort that could result in budgetary overrun or missed delivery dates.
  • Operate independently and work cooperatively as part of a team to accomplish program and client goals.
  • Interact effectively with client personnel, including project team members and users.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in information technology or client services industry.
  • Strong client-facing skills and ability to interact at a high level with client leadership.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Active/current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility, and the ability to obtain/maintain a Polygraph.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • SAFe PO/PM or other PO certification and prior experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Experience using Agile Project Management tools, such as Jira.
  • Experience supporting HR, Financial, or Supply Chain applications.
