About the position

The Product Owner at Freedom Mortgage is a pivotal role responsible for the tactical implementation of the product strategy. This position requires close collaboration with Product Managers, Business Analysts, Engineers, and leadership to create user stories and maintain a prioritized backlog that is value-driven and metric-oriented, ultimately contributing to the success of the business. The Product Owner will foster effective cross-team collaboration, drive testing, and enable efficient delivery of product enhancements using agile methodologies. The overarching goal is to improve the overall customer and team member experiences and efficiencies. In this role, the Product Owner will determine and articulate the Minimum Viable Product (MVP), identifying the essential components of the overall vision necessary to achieve company objectives. They will create, maintain, and prioritize the Agile team's work backlog by assessing business and customer value. Collaboration with other Product Owners is crucial to manage inter-team dependencies effectively. The Product Owner will focus on outcomes, set clear success criteria, and challenge the status quo to find innovative solutions and drive out-of-the-box ideas. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, with a demonstrated ability to turn data into actionable insights. Effective communication with both technical and business associates is essential, as is the ability to work independently and be a self-starter. Excellent organizational and time management skills are also required. The Product Owner will collaborate with the wider team on project milestones and provide organizational management and stakeholders with relevant updates, while ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures. Regular and punctual attendance is expected, along with the performance of other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Determine and articulate Minimum Viable Product (MVP) to achieve company objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or two (2) + years of additional Business Analysis, Product Owner, Programming, etc.
• Two (2) to four (4) years related experience in a relevant field.
• Five (5) + years of Business Analysis or Product Owner experience as an individual contributor, preferred.
• Previous experience in Mortgage Banking, Fintech, and/or associated lines of business is highly preferred.
• Excellent analytical skills with experience turning data into actionable insights.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in the Product or Tech space that offsets the need for a Bachelor's degree.
