About the position

The Product Owner is responsible for defining and managing the product roadmap, prioritizing the product backlog, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders. This role requires a clear understanding of technology products, the ability to innovate, and experience in agile environments, particularly within the utility industry.

Responsibilities

• Defines and manages product roadmap
• Build, groom and prioritize the product backlog
• Continuously manage expectations with relevant stakeholders including the senior leadership team
• Manage the sprint planning process
• Participate in all relevant ceremonies (reviews of prior sprints, grooming, retrospectives, etc.)

Requirements

• Preferred Product Owner Certification obtained within 6 months upon entry of role
• Clear passion for topics of technology products and an ability to identify possibilities to innovate
• Ability to be self-directed and to proactively anticipate problems and seek opportunities
• Understanding of the SDLC process and the ability to work in an agile environment with bi-weekly releases
• Experience operating in an environment driven by KPIs
• 5 or more years working in utility industry
• Experience as a Product Analyst
• Agile Product Owner certification
• 'Black Belt' Six Sigma certification
• Experience with Jira
• Experience with relevant new product or technology development experience working in a fast-paced environment
• Experience with teams developing and shipping software
