About the position

Nelnet Business Services (NBS), a division of Nelnet, Inc., is dedicated to providing payment technology, education services, and learning management solutions to a wide array of organizations, including over 1,300 higher education institutions, 11,500 K-12 schools, and 3,500 churches. As a Product Owner II, you will play a crucial role in coordinating product development and release planning, ensuring the successful delivery of both new and existing products. This position requires a strong focus on collaboration with agile development teams to create use cases, requirements, and estimations that align with company objectives. You will also be responsible for documenting release notes and managing analytics related to the customer journey through our products. In this role, you will spend a significant amount of time validating user experience (UX) mocks and early-stage simulations with clients, ensuring that the solutions developed meet market expectations. You will collaborate with other departments and the product manager to provide content for sales, user training, and documentation tools. Additionally, you will ensure that client documentation is updated and effective, including release notes and roadmaps. Launching new products will be a key responsibility, and you will work directly with clients to manage feedback, ensuring that the voice of the customer is integrated into each product. You will also study and report on product analytics and serve as a resource for onboarding new team members.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate product development and release planning.
  • Work closely with agile development teams to create use cases, requirements, and estimations.
  • Document release notes and manage analytics related to the customer journey.
  • Validate UX mocks and early-stage simulations with clients.
  • Ensure solutions meet market expectations in collaboration with development teams.
  • Provide content for sales, user training, and documentation tools in collaboration with other departments and the product manager.
  • Update and maintain effective client documentation, including release notes and roadmaps.
  • Launch new products with assistance from the Product Manager.
  • Manage a client feedback tool to ensure the voice of the customer is integrated into products.
  • Study and report on product analytics.
  • Serve as a resource for onboarding new team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years related experience or existing product knowledge.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects.
