About the position

The Product Owner at Alacrity Solutions is responsible for leading product development initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders and an agile team to manage and prioritize software development efforts. This role is crucial in ensuring that software development aligns with business goals and strategies, translating business needs into technical solutions, and managing the product lifecycle from conception to release.

Responsibilities

  • Define and interpret business needs, create user stories, and validate requirements.
  • Oversee the development of new software features and applications from inception to release.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Software Engineer to ensure that stories are complete, feasible, and conform to technical standards.
  • Create, prioritize, and manage the product backlog, ensuring it reflects customer needs and company goals.
  • Act as a liaison between stakeholders and the development team, facilitating communication and confirming alignment of business priorities and sprint progress.
  • Participate in sprint planning, ensuring the technical team fully understands requirements and supporting business logic.
  • Promote timely delivery of features and enhancements by providing clear requirements and removing obstacles.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and User Acceptance testing of solutions to ensure features and functions are optimized prior to release.
  • Lead and communicate the release plan, create release notes, and provide additional documentation as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in product management or as a product owner or project manager in an Agile environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex business needs into actionable written requirements.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Experience with data analysis and using customer feedback to drive product decisions.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Willingness to adapt work hours to address critical needs.
