About the position

We are currently seeking a Product Owner for a hybrid opportunity that will be set for a multi-year contract role. The Product Owner will play a crucial role in facilitating communication between team members and stakeholders, ensuring that the development process aligns with customer needs and business objectives. This position involves analyzing incoming service requests from customers, determining their priority and complexity, and managing the flow of these requests through Kanban boards. The Product Owner will be responsible for reviewing requests, clarifying any vague areas with customers, and deciding the appropriate Kanban board for each request card. In addition to monitoring the flow of requests, the Product Owner will ensure that service level agreements are met and work to smooth workflow by removing any blockers that may arise. Prioritizing the backlog based on business value, dependencies, and risk is a key responsibility, as is ensuring that the team has a clear understanding of the work items and their respective priorities. The Product Owner will maintain a ready feature backlog and provide oversight, acting as an escalation point when necessary. This role also involves orchestrating work across the Kanban team and providing a full breakdown of project key activities and PBI assignments to delivery teams. Understanding and speaking to the metrics for service levels and making meaningful decisions based on these metrics will be essential. The Product Owner will also manage the service roadmap for the next 24 to 36 months, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • BS Degree.
  • 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to work across teams and with others as a team player.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly explain the status of efforts.
  • Project management skills are a plus for managing efforts.
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple efforts.
  • Knowledge of Kanban or agile methodologies.
