About the position

The Product Owner role at Aquent Talent is a hybrid position based in Richfield, OH, requiring on-site work three days a week. This pivotal role involves understanding industry trends and client needs to translate them into product requirements for Scrum teams. The Product Owner will focus on back-end automation of business processes while also addressing front-end elements as needed. The position demands strong leadership and collaboration skills to drive cross-functional initiatives and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Gather information from multiple sources to uncover trends and actionable conclusions.
  • Conceptualize solutions leveraging current technologies based on industry trends and client needs.
  • Apply management and collaboration skills to maximize deliverables of cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain focus and drive results in various business cycles and environments.
  • Demonstrate adaptability to changing project needs and priorities.
  • Listen to client needs to understand underlying problems that need addressing.
  • Exhibit servant leadership to garner respect from Scrum teams and demonstrate value-add principles.
  • Foster transparency within the Scrum team to build trust between business and development.
  • Facilitate discussions to resolve conflicts and issues promptly.
  • Translate product vision and roadmaps into priorities for Scrum teams.
  • Think creatively to identify out-of-the-box solutions.
  • Write user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Split large stories into smaller stories and groom the backlog.
  • Conduct release and sprint planning activities.
  • Navigate sprint review activities.

Requirements

  • Detailed understanding of the retirement industry to inform product roadmaps and user stories.
  • Knowledge of business operations, processes, and procedures to inform trade-off decisions and troubleshooting.
  • Fully educated on the Scrum process and able to apply it practically.
  • Strong grasp of Agile values and principles.
  • Experience in software development and technology.
  • Prior retirement business and operational experience.
  • Scrum Product Owner certification.
  • Experience in a Scaled Agile framework.
  • Familiarity with Jira and Rally.
