About the position

Kforce has a client seeking a Product Owner in Windsor, CT. The Product Owner will play a crucial role in leading market analysis and specification documentation for software solutions developed by the SEC. This position requires the ability to articulate and translate the product vision to key stakeholders within the SEC and the broader community. The Product Owner will be responsible for ensuring that all stakeholders, including customers, development teams, and business managers, are aligned with the product goals and understand how these goals align with the overall business objectives. In this role, the Product Owner will work closely with SEC development and product teams on a daily basis to clarify business requirements, identify roadblocks, and gain alignment around the product strategy. The responsibilities include developing user story acceptance criteria, participating in team demos, and coordinating delivery plans, training, and support with other SEC team members. The Product Owner will also incorporate stakeholder input into the product roadmap while effectively negotiating trade-offs due to conflicting priorities, weighing the value to the business and the customer. Understanding customer needs and prioritizing the backlog to achieve product release goals is essential. The Product Owner will develop and maintain appropriate tracking and reporting of product performance post-launch to evaluate future investments. Additionally, evaluating product development progress at each iteration and creating and maintaining project plans to implement the most efficient sequence of development, testing, and business deliverables are key functions of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead market analysis and specification documentation for SEC-developed software solutions.

Requirements

  • Degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analysis) or a Marketing degree.
  • 2-5 years of related experience.
  • Experience and/or technical knowledge of software.
  • High-level knowledge of agile software development and experience in project management.
  • Familiarity with high performing work environments.
  • Understanding of computer science principles.
  • Knowledge of customer-driven and usability test principles.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
