The Product Owner will serve as a crucial liaison between the IT department and business stakeholders, ensuring that the product vision aligns with the needs of all parties involved. This role is responsible for owning and managing the Product Backlog, which includes continuously prioritizing the Program and Sprint Backlogs, especially during backlog grooming sessions. The Product Owner is empowered to make critical decisions regarding product functionality and priority, championing efforts to achieve the product vision and objectives. In this position, the Product Owner will attend sprint backlog grooming sessions and ensure that user stories meet the Definition of Ready (DoR). They will be responsible for updating user stories in the Agile Management Tool (Rally) and providing periodic status updates to business stakeholders and upper management. The role also involves developing features, user stories, and acceptance criteria, collaborating with other Product Owners and/or the Product Manager to uphold business priorities and vision. The Product Owner will provide sign-off to accept each user story during the sprint, ensuring that the development team has clear direction and understanding of the product goals. The ideal candidate will define the product vision, create a product roadmap, and outline product requirements. They will develop user stories, define acceptance criteria, and write acceptance tests, providing direction to the Agile development team. The Product Owner will also create, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, effectively conveying the vision and goals at the beginning of every release and sprint. Participation in daily scrums, sprint planning meetings, and sprint reviews and retrospectives is essential, as is the ability to communicate status updates externally to stakeholders.
