About the position

As a Product Owner at a well-known Financial Services Company, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the product vision, roadmap, and investment strategy to ensure timely delivery of products to customers. This long-term contract position, based in Woodbridge Township, NJ, offers a hybrid work environment and is part of a dynamic team that has been innovating for over 150 years. You will be responsible for prioritizing the product backlog and managing incoming expedited requests by collaborating closely with delivery teams and customers. Your role will involve developing, evolving, and communicating the product area vision, priorities, and strategy while managing risks and ensuring compliance with regulatory policies. In this position, you will establish and monitor product area goals and performance indicators, build relationships with key partners and stakeholders, and facilitate collaboration between customers, stakeholders, and teams throughout the product lifecycle. You will engage in research and discovery to incorporate key findings into the product area backlog and actively own the prioritization of the backlog aligned with the product area vision and goals. Your leadership will inspire and guide high-performing, cross-functional teams, and you will be expected to maintain consistent communication with product leadership and team members. This role is crucial in transforming teams into high-performing agile units and delivering enterprise-wide value as the organization transitions to a strategic secure network platform. You will work closely with product managers, technical leaders, and business leaders to create meaningful customer value with current and emerging connectivity and cryptographic services. Strong risk and dependency management skills are essential to coordinate large complex initiatives across multiple Agile and non-agile teams, and you will need to leverage excellent communication skills to build consensus and enthusiasm for prioritizing product delivery against the overall strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision, roadmap, and investment strategy enabling timely delivery of products to customers.
  • Prioritize the backlog and incoming expedited requests by collaborating with delivery teams and customers.
  • Develop, evolve, and communicate the product area vision, priorities, and strategy while managing risk and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Establish, communicate, and monitor product area goals and performance indicators.
  • Identify and build relationships with key partners and stakeholders to communicate product area vision, strategies, and priorities while soliciting feedback.
  • Facilitate frequent collaboration between customers, stakeholders, and teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Engage in industry, technology, and customer ecosystem research to incorporate key findings into the product area backlog.
  • Actively own the prioritization of a clearly understood product area backlog aligned to product area vision and goals.
  • Identify and resolve sequencing and prioritization conflicts across products and product areas.
  • Inspire and guide high-performing, cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain consistent communication with product leadership and product area team members.
  • Transform teams into high-performing agile teams and deliver enterprise-wide value as the organization transitions to a strategic secure network platform.
  • Work closely with product managers, technical leaders, and business leaders to create meaningful customer value with connectivity and cryptographic services.
  • Coordinate large complex initiatives across multiple Agile and non-agile teams, leveraging risk and dependency management skills.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product owner experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Experience with web proxy servers, firewalls, microsegmentation, remote access, zero trust network access, and web application firewalls.
  • Experience with Agile practices and frameworks (e.g., Kanban, Scrum) and workflow tools such as Confluence, Jira, and Jira Align.
  • Experience with traditional project management practices (e.g., Waterfall) and tools such as Microsoft Project.

Nice-to-haves

  • 5+ years of experience leading large scale, complex product portfolios with broad scope and impact across large organizations.
  • Experience transitioning teams to agile product and portfolio management.
  • Experience building next generation data center network security solutions and migrating from legacy to best-in-class data center environments.
  • Experience with application delivery services including web application firewalls and web proxy.
  • Experience with cloud technologies enabling shift from on-premise infrastructure.
