The Kanban Product Owner (PO) role is a pivotal position responsible for identifying, refining, and prioritizing user stories for the Consumer Identity Access Management (CIAM) Kanban team. The PO serves as the voice of the customer, articulating what needs to be delivered while allowing the team to determine how to achieve those goals. This role requires close collaboration with the team's Tech Leads, Architects, and management to drive value to the business by effectively managing the product backlog, which encompasses a variety of sources including intake requests, incidents, technical debt, and maintenance work. The Product Owner is expected to possess a deep understanding of the CIAM product and the underlying platforms that the delivery teams support. A solid grasp of Identity and Access Management concepts, standards, regulations, and strategies is essential. The PO will partner with CIAM leadership to transform requests from multiple sources into a prioritized backlog that is actionable for the team. Effective communication of priorities and execution status to key stakeholders is crucial, as is the ability to incorporate stakeholder input while negotiating trade-offs based on business and customer value. In this role, the Product Owner will work closely with the CIAM team on a daily basis, providing subject matter expertise and clarifying work item requirements. The PO will drive quality and innovation in the team's output, define key metrics for reporting on status, and own the messaging regarding the health of the CIAM team's delivery. Facilitating activities such as Backlog Refinement sessions and adhering to established guidelines and procedures are also key responsibilities.
