About the position

The Product Owner will play a critical role in defining business, financial, and operational requirements for our client based in New York City. This position requires a strong partnership with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to ensure that systems goals are met effectively. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working on projects related to Payment Processing, Liquidity Management, Data Warehousing, and core Cash Management, particularly for large multinational clients. The role demands a deep understanding of various payment ecosystems, including UPI, US RTP, FedNow, and SEPA Interac, as well as familiarity with regional payment practices and emerging solutions. The candidate should possess solid knowledge of industry standards such as ISO20022 and SWIFT, and have hands-on experience in these areas. Additionally, the Product Owner will be responsible for gathering business requirements and translating them into technical and functional solutions, ensuring that all stakeholders are aligned with the project goals. The successful candidate will also have a proven track record of completing projects that involve digital transformation and the migration of legacy payment systems. Responsibilities will include defining and documenting User Stories and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) in JIRA, providing walkthroughs of solutions, stories, and ICDs to partners, Engineering Managers, and CQE teams. Collaboration with Scrum Masters and Release Train Engineers (RTEs) will be essential for the day-to-day execution of initiatives within a scrum team.

Responsibilities

• Define business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals through partnership with decision makers, systems owners, and end users.
• Work on projects involving Payment Processing, Liquidity Management, Data Warehousing, and core Cash Management for large MNC clients.
• Gather business requirements and convert them into technical and functional solutions.
• Document User Stories and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) in JIRA under appropriate epics.
• Provide solution, story, and ICD walkthroughs to partners, Engineering Managers, and CQE teams.
• Collaborate with Scrum Masters and RTEs for day-to-day execution of initiatives via a scrum team.

Requirements

• 5-8 years of experience in business analysis or systems analysis.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with industry standards like ISO20022 and SWIFT.
• Deep understanding of multiple payment ecosystems such as UPI, US RTP, FedNow, and SEPA Interac.
• Solid understanding of trends in the payment industry, including Mobile Banking, Digital Wallets, and Tokenization.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively use complex analytical, interpretive, and problem-solving techniques.
• Proven interpersonal, diplomatic, and influencing skills.
• Consistent demonstration of clear and concise written and verbal communication.

• Master's/MBA from a premier institute preferred.
