About the position

As a Product Performance Engineer at Baker Hughes, you will be responsible for providing guidance to the manufacturing community and supplier base on engineering design inquiries. You will initialize and develop Engineering Changes to the current ALS Drives and Controls product portfolio. This role requires you to work independently or as part of a team to develop cost-effective and manufacturable solutions for the ALS Drives and Controls product portfolio. You will effectively communicate project statuses to manufacturing personnel, engineering colleagues, and management, while also evaluating design-related concerns from the manufacturing environment and prioritizing needs and solutions based on cost and available resources.

Responsibilities

  • Provides guidance to the Baker Hughes manufacturing Community and to the BKR supplier base on engineering design related inquiries.
  • Initializes and develops Engineering Changes to the current ALS Drives and Controls product portfolio.
  • Works independently or as part of a team to develop best cost and best design for manufacturability solutions for the ALS Drives and Controls product portfolio.
  • Effectively communicates to manufacturing personnel, engineering and designer colleagues as well as management the status of projects.
  • Evaluates design related concerns generated from the Manufacturing environment and prioritizes needs and solutions based on need, cost and resources available.

Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 10 years' experience in electro-mechanical design with exposure to working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experienced with developing and working with electrical schematics and control block diagrams.
  • Experience with developing, working with and maintaining Bills of Materials (BoMs) of large Electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Experience with Solid Works, SolidWorks Electrical and AutoCAD.
  • Mechanical engineering design - ideally variable speed drive Control Cabinets, preferred.
  • Proficiency in the Siemen's Team Center PLM system, preferred.
  • Control programming experience such as HMI, PLC, DCS or proprietary controls systems, preferred.
