About the position

The Product Portfolio Manager at ChemPoint is responsible for managing, optimizing, and growing the company's product lines in alignment with supplier investments and strategic objectives. This role serves as the primary contact for suppliers, analyzes sales data, and collaborates with various teams to ensure effective execution of product strategies. The position also involves mentoring interns and promoting a culture of energy and innovation within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Act as liaison and primary ChemPoint contact for suppliers, leveraging partnership opportunities and managing expectations.
  • Analyze sales results and provide direction to the marketing team for campaign strategies.
  • Build product line plans and coordinate internal strategies to align with supplier and internal objectives.
  • Work with Demand Planning and Supply Chain teams to plan monthly/yearly sales projections.
  • Collaborate with Market Developers on demand generation activities and results.
  • Mentor interns by providing relevant projects and tasks.
  • Align behavior with ChemPoint culture by promoting change and innovation.
  • Demonstrate accountability for performance in the area of responsibility.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a fully accredited four-year institution or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in a business-to-business sales organization, preferably as a Market Developer, or 5+ years of equivalent technical sales experience.
  • Strong knowledge of PC and Windows OS.
  • Experience with MS Office Suite, particularly strong Excel skills.
  • Consultative selling skills and versatility in customer interactions.
  • Excellent communication skills, including telephone skills.
  • Knowledge of ChemPoint products and services and the industries served.
  • Problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Understanding of pricing and marketing strategy.
  • Familiarity with ChemPoint IT applications, with XRM database experience preferred.
