About the position

The Product Portfolio Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of valve products, from concept to obsolescence. This role involves developing and implementing product management and marketing strategies to achieve sales, profitability, and customer service goals. The position requires collaboration with global teams, including customers, sales, marketing, and engineering, to manage existing products and launch new ones, while also analyzing market trends and driving business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Understand portfolio uses in the market.
  • Maintain knowledge base of competitive products.
  • Understand customer use cases for product expansions.
  • Identify new opportunities for existing products in existing or new markets.
  • Travel to customer sites for face-to-face interaction.
  • Improve financial performance and profitability.
  • Enhance supply chain resiliency and global reach.
  • Lead time initiatives for product enhancements.
  • Assist in the analysis of business trends and propose corrective strategies.
  • Work with country sales organizations to develop product tiering strategies.
  • Drive product awareness and technical expertise.
  • Act as product spokesperson and create technical papers.
  • Speak at trade shows and share success stories.
  • Collaborate with marketing communications on sales collateral.
  • Develop user documentation and marketing material.
  • Serve as subject matter expert to solve issues.
  • Train sales and service personnel on product and market segments.
  • Support coursework development for education services personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Marketing with 5 years industry experience, or MBA with a technical undergraduate and 3 years industry experience.
  • Engineering background or related experience to investigate customer application/product needs.
  • Experience in process engineering, sales, or marketing.
  • Solid understanding of commercial and technical applications of control valves or similar products.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with technical experts and non-technical salespeople.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
