About the position

We are currently recruiting for a Product Portfolio Manager in NYC, West Hartford, CT, or Atlanta, GA to lead and manage the product lifecycle of a commercial insurance portfolio which consists of approximately $400 million in P&L responsibility. In this role, you will set the product vision, strategy, and roadmap, and work closely with cross-functional stakeholders and teams to deliver best-in-class products that meet the needs and expectations of target segments. The position offers a competitive base salary of $170,000 - $190,000, along with a bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. As the Product Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for building product management discipline, establishing processes, tools, and best practices across all products. You will develop and communicate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap that align with the company's goals and objectives. Additionally, you will create and build the product team, which includes hiring, training, and mentoring team members. Your responsibilities will also include defining and prioritizing the product backlog and features based on customer value, business impact, and technical feasibility. Conducting market research and analysis to identify customer segments, needs, pain points, opportunities, and trends in the small commercial insurance space will be crucial. You will manage product launch and go-to-market activities, including developing product positioning, messaging, pricing, and distribution strategies. Furthermore, you will measure and monitor product performance and customer satisfaction using both quantitative and qualitative methods, soliciting and incorporating feedback from customers, stakeholders, and users to continuously improve product quality and user experience.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of experience in product management, within the insurance or financial services industry a must
  • 3+ years of experience in leading and managing product teams
  • Bachelor's degree; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Strong knowledge of the commercial insurance market, customer segments, competitors, trends, and opportunities
  • Exceptional skills in product visioning, strategy formulation, roadmap development, prioritization, and execution
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and align senior executives and stakeholders
  • Highly analytical and data-driven mindset, with the ability to use quantitative and qualitative methods to measure product performance and customer satisfaction
  • Creative and innovative problem-solving skills, with the ability to generate new ideas and solutions that address customer pain points and create value.
