About the position

As a Product Portfolio Marketing Manager at Amazon Web Services (AWS), you will play a pivotal role in defining and driving the marketing strategy for AWS's extensive product portfolio. This position offers the unique opportunity to inspect and evolve existing mechanisms for product development and go-to-market strategies, while also creating new processes that span the entire range of AWS products and solutions. Your work will directly impact how AWS positions its offerings in the market, ensuring that they meet the needs of a diverse customer base, from startups to large enterprises and government agencies. In this role, you will be expected to work backwards from the customer, utilizing data-driven insights to define product portfolio positioning, activities, and milestones. You will identify gaps in current processes and implement optimizations that enhance cross-team efficacy and delivery. Effective communication will be key, as you will need to keep stakeholders informed about project milestones and any changes to processes. Your ability to think strategically while also executing tactical initiatives will be crucial as you champion bold and creative ideas across various teams within AWS, including engineering, digital marketing, sales, and business development. The AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) team is dedicated to driving revenue and growth across a wide range of customer accounts, from small and mid-market to enterprise-level clients. Responsibilities

  • Define AWS product portfolio positioning, activities, and milestones by working backwards from the customer.
  • Use data to drive decisions and exercise judgment while acting quickly.
  • Identify gaps to implement or optimize cross-team processes that improve efficacy and delivery.
  • Communicate effectively across stakeholders to notify them of project milestones and process changes.
  • Work at both the strategic and tactical level to champion bold and creative ideas.
  • Collaborate effectively across AWS with groups such as engineering, digital marketing, sales, business development, and evangelists to achieve joint business goals.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in fields such as technical marketing, technical pre-sales, consulting, training, or product marketing/management.
  • 5+ years demonstrated track record in crafting positioning and marketing content.
  • A Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, technology, or relevant field of study such as computer science OR 7+ years relevant industry experience in marketing of technical products.
  • Demonstrated ability in launching and growing innovative technology products.

Nice-to-haves

  • MBA and/or computer science, engineering, technology background.
  • 5+ years experience in product marketing for services targeting end users.
  • Experience with cloud and data center infrastructure technologies.
