As a Product Pricing Analyst at BMC, you will be part of the newly created global Commercial Strategy & Operations (CSO) team. The CSO organization will help drive long-term revenue growth by bringing together key organizations to support various stages of commercial agreements at BMC and support the GTM team. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Pricing Strategy & Analytics, you will be responsible for supporting pricing architecture, packaging, and monetization strategies for BMC's current product and services portfolio, as well as future innovation. You will partner with seasoned Product Managers across BMC's business units and collaborate closely with cross-functional stakeholders to set and drive the company's strategic pricing goals.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market analysis and competitive research to inform optimal product pricing architecture to meet strategic objectives.
  • Leverage customer and market analysis to identify revenue opportunities including new licensing models, units of measure, product bundles, and promotions.
  • Develop value maps to understand fair value of product offerings based on customer perceived benefit via customer surveys and inform product lifecycle pricing.
  • Support the development of analytical models and tools informed by transactional data, market intelligence, and other key variables to determine target product price levels.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and key functional stakeholders (e.g., Sales, Finance, Compliance) to develop business cases for product updates and new launches.
  • Contribute to the development of financial forecasts resulting from new product pricing strategies and innovation.
  • Support the development of product price adjustments according to customer value, macroeconomic factors, product enhancements, etc.
  • Prepare clear communication documents and reporting to share findings and recommendations with senior leaders.
  • Coordinate cross-functional approval process required for product price updates, new product releases, and product decommissioning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or data science with 3+ years of experience in analytics related to pricing and business strategy.
  • Proven success in supporting the design and implementation of pricing and packaging strategies.
  • Solid experience manipulating and analyzing large and complex data sets to derive key business insights.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts in simple terms to key stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Proficiency in Excel, VBA, and Tableau.
