About the position

The Product Quality Manager at Apple is responsible for overseeing the quality of accessories across multiple products and suppliers. This role involves collaboration with various management levels to ensure that products meet Apple's high standards of quality and aesthetics. The manager will support new product introductions, drive supplier performance improvements, and lead quality improvement initiatives, all while working closely with engineering teams in Asia.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with management levels to ensure Accessories Quality.
  • Support the New Products Introduction team by implementing the Product Quality Plan for new iOS accessory products.
  • Drive closure of technical operational issues related to SMT, Final Assembly, Test, and Packaging.
  • Improve supplier performance through measurement and analysis of production line yields, quality audits, and reliability testing.
  • Work with Asia-based Engineers to ensure understanding and implementation of Product Quality Plan deliverables.
  • Develop systems to ensure products are delivered with flawless cosmetics.
  • Utilize lessons learned from previous programs to avoid pitfalls and shorten production execution learning curves.
  • Lead sustaining quality improvement forums and present key issues to cross-functional teams and executive management.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of high-volume manufacturing experience with a detailed understanding of production processes, testing, kitting, and packaging.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • Expertise in quality management, planning, and engineering skills.
  • Domain expertise in quality plans, FMEAs, auditing, corrective and preventative actions, and sampling methodologies.
  • Demonstrated capability with quality statistical techniques including SPC, sampling AQLs, and measurement system analysis.
  • Working knowledge of advanced quality techniques such as design of experiments and reliability analysis.
  • Basic understanding of metrology and GDT.
  • Strong problem-solving analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes quickly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluency in Mandarin is a plus.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills to manage issues in a global organization.
  • Supplier management experience.
