About the position

The Product Revenue Accounting Analyst at DocuSign plays a crucial role in leading the Revenue Accounting Product Lifecycle. This position involves collaboration with various business partners to evaluate technical accounting conclusions for product development projects and partnership arrangements. The analyst will also focus on process improvements within the revenue ecosystem, ensuring accurate revenue reporting and compliance with accounting policies.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate product road maps, feature updates, promotional campaigns, and cross-platform initiatives to determine their revenue impacts and lead the team's documentation of relevant accounting conclusions.
  • Own review of new products, the product's downstream impacts to revenue accounting systems, and act as a key business partner to various cross functional teams such as Engineering, Business Process, Program Managers, and Pricing and Packaging.
  • Assist in the review of revenue accounting policies for new product proposals and initiatives, determining how new proposals affect the financial statements.
  • Collaborate with Accounting teams, FP&A, and other cross functional teams to ensure revenue metrics are complete and accurate.
  • Analyze non-recurring transactions by accurately identifying the accounting implications of various explicit terms and implied nuances, applying appropriate accounting rules and literature and exercising judgment in subjective areas to draw reasonable and acceptable conclusions.
  • Manage product considerations within M&A workstreams, incorporating acquired target's accounting policies, alignment to Docusign policies and developing product onboarding strategies.
  • Perform and enhance existing internal controls on a quarterly and annual basis.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related work experience with 3+ years of Big 4 or equivalent experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • ASC 606 or IFRS 15 experience

Nice-to-haves

  • CPA or equivalent
  • Excellent technical, analytical, communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience advising and influencing teams outside of the essential functions of your role
  • Experience working with global companies
  • Experience with process improvement and controls
