As a Hardware Engineer at Google, you will be at the forefront of designing and building the systems that power the world's largest and most powerful computing infrastructure. Your role will involve developing hardware, software, and networking technologies that are essential for all of Google's services. You will work on projects that span from low-level circuit design to large system design, ensuring that these systems are taken through to high-volume manufacturing. Your contributions will have a significant impact on the machinery that supports our cutting-edge data centers, ultimately affecting millions of Google users. In your capacity as a Safety Test Engineer, you will collaborate closely with hardware testing and design teams, other product safety engineers, and suppliers to gain a comprehensive understanding of project architectures. Your primary responsibility will be to conduct safety testing, extracting data to validate that all safety goals are met in accordance with established standards and specifications. This role will require you to apply your knowledge of safety, electrical, networking, mechanical, and software fundamentals to test various Information Technology Equipment. You will also be responsible for preparing, exercising, and configuring equipment under test, as well as recording test data in compliance with industry standards. Analyzing test data, performing calculations, and preparing documentation will be key components of your daily tasks. Additionally, you will maintain in-house test labs and product technical files, oversee Safety Lab test equipment and fixtures, ensuring all equipment is operational and that calibrations are current. Your support will extend to testing at third-party test labs, ensuring that all safety and performance standards are upheld throughout the testing process.
