About the position

The Product Sales Manager at BlueLinx is a key role focused on driving sales growth for specific building products. This position requires a Subject Matter Expert (SME) who can build strong relationships with clients, identify new sales opportunities, and provide exceptional customer service. The role involves working closely with sales management and customers to develop sales solutions, negotiate pricing, and forecast replenishment needs, all while ensuring effective product performance and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Establish strong relationships with clients to grow sales and solidify partnerships for long-term profitability.
  • Identify new sales opportunities with new and existing customers for assigned products.
  • Improve profitability, product penetration, product mix, and inventory turn with all customers for assigned products.
  • Ensure effective product performance and promote good customer and supplier relations.
  • Assist customers with sales and technical support for assigned products and resolve customer service issues.
  • Develop sales solutions and competitive pricing strategies for assigned products.
  • Communicate value proposition to customers and propose sales solutions, reevaluating as necessary.
  • Promote existing products and present new product opportunities to drive sales and profits.
  • Analyze and monitor sales and profitability; develop pricing models and profitability strategies for the region.
  • Develop and build relationships with internal business units including branches, replenishment/supply chain team, product management, and Branch Sales and Operations teams.

Requirements

  • 4+ years' experience with a bachelor's degree - equivalent industry experience preferred.
  • Self-motivated, high energy, persistent, and sense of urgency.
  • Proven track record of sales success - ability to drive growth as well as maintain a large book of business.
  • Demonstrated success in problem solving - must be creative and innovative.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and work cross-functionally.
  • Superior interpersonal skills - proficient in both written and verbal communications.
  • Working knowledge of assigned product line, customer support/service, and inventory management.
  • Possesses well-developed consultative selling skills, and confident in negotiation win/win outcomes.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
