About the position
Meta's Product Security team is looking for a Product Security Engineer who is passionate about identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities. This role is crucial in ensuring the security and privacy of Meta's products, impacting over two billion users. The engineer will work closely with engineering and product teams to provide security expertise and develop solutions that enhance product security.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual design and implementation reviews of products and services within the Meta ecosystem, including Instagram, WhatsApp, Oculus, and Portal.
- Build automation (static and dynamic analysis) and frameworks with software engineers to enable consistent security practices across all products.
- Provide guidance and education to developers to help prevent the creation of vulnerabilities.
- Offer technical guidance to the bug bounty program and independent security researchers.
- Contribute to the security community through conference talks and open source projects.
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience finding vulnerabilities in interpreted languages such as PHP, Python, and Ruby, along with knowledge of best practices in secure code development.
- Experience with exploiting common security vulnerabilities.
Nice-to-haves
- Contributions to the security community through public research, blogging, presentations, or bug bounty programs.
- Experience writing software that enables security processes.
