About the position
Meta's Product Security team is looking for a dedicated Product Security Engineer who is passionate about identifying and mitigating security vulnerabilities. This role is crucial in ensuring the security and privacy of Meta's vast user base by providing expert guidance to engineering and product teams. The engineer will engage in security reviews, develop automated analysis tools, and contribute to the security community, all while helping to protect products like Instagram, WhatsApp, and Oculus.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual design and implementation reviews of products and services within the Meta ecosystem.
- Build automation (static and dynamic analysis) and frameworks with software engineers to enhance security across all products.
- Provide guidance and education to developers to prevent the creation of vulnerabilities.
- Offer technical guidance to the bug bounty program and independent security researchers.
- Contribute to the security community through conference talks and open source projects.
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience finding vulnerabilities in interpreted languages (PHP, Python, Ruby).
- Knowledge of best practices in secure code development.
- Experience with exploiting common security vulnerabilities.
Nice-to-haves
- Contributions to the security community (public research, blogging, presentations, bug bounty, etc.).
- Experience writing software that enables security processes.
