About The Position

The Product Specialist role at ITT focuses on providing daily support to the sales force for the centrifugal pump division, Gould Pumps. This position emphasizes inside sales support, technical assistance, and product promotion, contributing to the division's significant revenue generation. The role involves collaboration with various departments, preparation of business cases, and customer training, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of product specifications and market strategies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial preferred) is required.
• Engineered product knowledge is a plus.
• Related experience in a mechanical or industrial setting is required.
• Experience in rotating equipment or engineered products is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Strong problem-solving skills and customer relationship skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as a team player.
• Mechanical knowledge or background is preferred.
• Engaged engineer willing to learn.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in sales support or inside sales roles.
• Familiarity with centrifugal pumps or similar products.

Responsibilities

• Support Sales in acquiring orders of Centrifugal products to $50M per year worldwide.
• Prepare business cases, bulletins, and success stories to promote products.
• Understand proposals and cost estimates to discuss strategic winning propositions.
• Provide technical information, costing, and application support to the sales force.
• Determine product and buy-out cost estimates and lead value engineering projects.
• Manage orders for special products, including specification interpretation and schedule management.
• Prepare promotional product newsletters and presentations, including customer and pump school training.
• Assist R&D Engineers with product engineering, analysis, and design to meet customer requirements.
• Assist Assembly and Test teams to resolve technical and contractual issues.
• Troubleshoot and resolve field problems for assigned products and others as directed.
