The Product Support Engineer 4 (Tech Spec II) position at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is a critical role within the Customer Support Engineering team located in Appleton, WI. This position is designed for individuals who are not only technically proficient but also possess a strong customer-service orientation, primarily towards internal customers such as Operations personnel. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and quick learning skills to effectively meet the diverse needs of our customers. A broad awareness and knowledge of FAA regulatory standards is essential, as is the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, Catia v5, and SmarTeam is highly desirable, along with a willingness to obtain FAA ODA unit member authority. In this role, the engineer will guide the successful completion of major engineering programs and will be involved in conceiving research in areas of considerable scope and complexity that support the development and production of Gulfstream products and services. The engineer will select appropriate methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria to resolve complex engineering issues, and will be consulted extensively by associates and others as a recognized authority within the field. The ability to anticipate and creatively resolve complex issues while developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities is crucial. The engineer will work with a significant degree of autonomy, with their work being reviewed from a long-range perspective for desired results. They will also exercise latitude in determining the technical objectives of assignments and will make decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative. Additionally, the engineer will maintain current knowledge of developments in their field of specialty and related aircraft fields to recommend innovations that improve the quality and effectiveness of company products.
