About the position

The Product Support Sales Representative (PSSR) at WPI is a professional sales role focused on promoting the company's products, services, and support programs. The PSSR is responsible for managing a designated territory or accounts, engaging with customers to recommend parts and services, and acting as a liaison between customers and WPI's departments. This role requires strong communication skills, a proactive approach to customer relations, and the ability to work independently while meeting company goals.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and follow a weekly itinerary for customer visits.
  • Prepare daily call reports and enter information into CRM Series for review by management.
  • Act as a liaison between customers and WPI's parts and service departments.
  • Maintain regular contact with customers to promote the PSSR role.
  • Attend training sessions provided by manufacturers and WPI.
  • Provide product leads and communicate with unit sales representatives.
  • Stay updated on new product support offerings from WPI and its manufacturers.
  • Quote customers for parts and service jobs as required.
  • Coordinate customer complaints with the appropriate departments.
  • Inspect and evaluate customer equipment for satisfaction.
  • Develop customer profiles for assigned accounts.
  • Deliver Extended Warranty contracts and oil analyzer kits to customers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in an applied discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of previous experience in a related field.
  • Working knowledge of the sales position and its relation to business objectives.
  • Ability to meet company goals and objectives.
  • Current driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as bending and twisting.
  • Dependable and able to work independently.
  • Strong communication skills for customer and employee interactions.
  • Ability to maintain good client relations and a professional appearance.
  • Commitment to a clean, neat, and safe work environment.
  • Flexibility to work hours, days, and weekends as necessary.
  • Ability to protect company assets and interests.
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight as required.
  • Ability to supervise and motivate others and evaluate their performance.
