About the position

The Product Support Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling company parts and service capabilities by engaging with existing customers and generating new leads. This role involves coordinating shop workflow, ordering parts, communicating with customers, processing work orders, and making sales calls in the field. The position emphasizes a commitment to high-performance work culture and offers opportunities for professional development and advancement.

Responsibilities

  • Determine individual customer's needs through needs analysis and provide solutions.
  • Develop and establish new business while maintaining positive relationships with current customers.
  • Plan daily sales calls itinerary and manage customer database in sales link.
  • Set and achieve monthly and yearly objectives in conjunction with supervisor.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction with service repairs.
  • Maintain good customer relations and resolve problems or disputes.
  • Stay current with new products and developments relevant to customers.
  • Sell value through cost improvement proposals and understand competition.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Prepare reports and data as requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business related field or Associate's degree in Diesel Technology with three years related experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of Caterpillar equipment and competitive brands.
  • Understanding of the territory's service needs and competition.
  • Availability to work during off hours and weekends for emergency calls.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Valid South Carolina driver's license with no more than two moving violations in three years.
  • Strong MS Office skills.
  • Excellent verbal/written and interpersonal communication skills.
